Andy Smith<p>I accompanied J to a medical appointment today and:</p><p>- as soon as we walked in the receptionist called me "Mr $HER_SURNAME" and her "Mrs $HER_SURNAME". She corrected the receptionist who made a note.</p><p>- The nurse who showed us in again called her Mrs and without asking introduced me to the consultant as her husband.</p><p>In the last days of 2024.</p><p>I will say that in our experience this doesn't tend to happen at NHS places; this was a private clinic.</p><p><a href="https://social.bitfolk.com/tags/CasualSexism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CasualSexism</span></a></p>
