I have started trying to learn Python again. This time I am determined not to bring back the typing pain, which is what forced me to stop again and again. So I fired up Dragon speech recognition software and I'm starting to add some coding shortcuts. It's slow and painful. But it's exhilarating because then I can go so much faster!

If you're curious, I am following Tavis Rudd's example.

I'm typing this now with Dragon speech recognition, because why not. And because I can. And Mastodon supports it!

Unlike WordPress and Twitter and WhatsApp and Simplenote. The errors are myriad and baffling, involving dancing text or just plain disappearance. There are workarounds, but they're a pain.

But I had faith that Mastodon would be accessible, and it is! :D

But I have to admit it's very slow. This computer is 7 years old and speech recognition is resource-hungry software.

Is anyone else using Dragon ? I would love to be buddies. This software takes a lot of wrangling!

I know about the KnowBrainer forum but I find their attitude kind of victim-blamey.
