After several years of this poetry submission process, it's taken on a certain subliminal/emotional rhythm.

I steel myself and send off a bunch of subs to various magazines

Occasionally this is followed by an #acceptance or two, usually very quickly. Honeymoon period.

Then I get to wait 1-6 months for the rest of the responses, and this is sort of a dull doomed feeling, because these are inevitably #rejection emails.
