I can now say, officially, I live in Porto. I got my residency card yesterday.

Here are some pictures of the city where I live.

The graffiti and street art is ubiquitous, and often excellent.

The 'Saudade' graffito is common. It means nostalgia, longing or yearning.

And a huge Joana Vasconcelos tile mural.

It's easy to get away from the more touristic areas of Porto. The peaceful view is a few minutes from Clerigos tower.

Escalators! (3 of them up a very steep street); Escadas do Monte dos Judeus.

On the coast at Matosinhos, the award winning Terminal de Cruzeiros. A million tiles - fish scales glinting in the sun.

And next to it, O Titan, a restored steam crane from 1890.

Happy to be here.
