@SabinaKnight Paris Review had quite an interview with Celine while he was still alive. A hateful person who lived a saintly life, a Nazi because of his hatred of the French bourgeoisie, he expected (and deserved) to be killed after the war. He spoke with the force and liveliness of his writing. He had something in common with Blaise Cendrars, who called it the flavorful language of the streets...
