Another conspiracy to cause a public nuisance the police will be unlikely to be chasing down:

Landlords & Tories are colluding to try and derail the renters' rights bill (despite having had a similar measure in mind when the Tories where in power)....

However, they are likely to find some (quiet) allies in the Labour MPs who are also landlords; it unclear if that will prove enough to find a way to disrupt any expansion in renters' rights?

We live in a rentier state and any attempt at curtailing rent-seeking behaviour is an anathema to the liberal economy.

The exact same argument applies to privatised utilities.
