I can understand why Starmer's Govt. is looking at ways to force social media firms to remove 'legal but harmful' content....but, I also have a rather uneasy feeling about how this might play out in the medium term.

So often measures which in the heat of a specific crisis seem apposite have then been used much more widely for oppressive reasons, that I'm reticent about such removals.

Better to focus on prosecuting those inciting violence using other (available) means?
