Like many unable to get to the 'once-in-a-lifetime' exhibition @rijksmuseum I bought the catalogue.

Its full of VG research & will become (if not already) the authoritative reference source for Vermeer.

But (& this is a big but), Thames & Hudson (for whatever reason) have printed it on matt absorbent paper which renders the reproduction (of the works & many details included) lifeless & dull.

Given Vermeer's luminosity (alluded in the text) this is a major disappointment!
